A postpartum doula is a non-medical support professional trained in providing support to parents and caregivers in the period following childbirth, adoption, or foster placement. Through nurturing, educating, and referring, I help to meet the individual needs of your whole family system.
Postpartum Doula support may look like:
Washing and sterilizing bottles and pump parts
Caring for infant while parents sleep
Stocking and organizing changing table
Troubleshooting feeding challenges
Educating about tummy time
Listening to and validating birth stories
Providing referrals to perinatal professionals
I am passionate about newborn care and parent-child attachment. I strive to stay well-informed and up to date about newborn care practices, bonding techniques, and the challenges facing modern parents. I am adaptable at providing caregivers with the care that they need the most--whether it is educating about child development, validating the stresses of parenting, or caring for the baby while you rest.
My areas of expertise include:
Infant mental health
Attachment
Newborn sleep
Babywearing
Choosing a daycare
I offer daytime shifts, overnight shifts, and consultation visits/calls.
Yes! I love supporting siblings adjust to their new baby before, during and after the birth.
Prenatally, I can:
Lead sibling prep classes to establish a relationship and educate the sibling about pregnancy, birth and newborn care.
Plan to be available for sibling care during the birth if needed.
Postpartum, I include siblings in our family care plan by:
Leading activities to help process the transition.
Playing or caring for the older sibling while parents rest or care for the baby.
Caring for the baby so parents can spend quality time with the older sibling.
My background in child development and education supports me in tailoring her sibling work to the age, interests, and abilities of the child. I am particularly skilled at supporting siblings with special needs adjust to life with a baby.
I have been a doula since 2024. I trained and certified with DONA International for Postpartum work and Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings for Full-Spectrum Doula work (estimated completion date Fall 2026).
Additionally, I have trained in Infant/Early Childhood Mental Heath, Supporting Pregnancy and Infant Loss, NICU support, and Multiples Care. I have an active Pediatric/Adult First Aid/CPR certification, and am enthusiastic about getting all vaccines I qualify for!
Outside of formal training, these books and resources have greatly influenced my postpartum doula work:
