Rachel Jamieson, M. S. Ed, PCD(DONA) Early Childhood Education and Care
Rachel Jamieson, M. S. Ed (she/her)
I started teaching young children in 2009 in Asheville, NC, and young children have been my passion and vocation ever since. I earned a Master's degree in Early Childhood General and Special Education in 2017 from Bank Street College of Education. I am currently located in Washington, DC.
I left the classroom in 2024 and started working as a postpartum doula, sleep coach, and babywearing educator. While my title shifted, my role as an educator and advocate for young children still drives my work.
Regardless of age or setting, I am passionate about social/emotional growth, child-directed learning, trauma-informed practices and inclusion. I view early childhood education and care as a vehicle for social change, and strive to be anti-racist, pro-LGBTQI+, and neurodiversity affirming in all of myroles.
I firmly believes in the therapeutic power of play! When I am not working with young children, I enjoy doing aerial circus arts, hiking, and spending time with my cat Turnip!
